Three BVI secondary schools will be representing the Territory at the 2016 IAA/McDonald’s Martin Luther King Basketball Tournament that takes place 15-18 January at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School gymnasium on St. Thomas.
The Elmore Stoutt, Bregado Flax and St. Georges high schools will be representing the Terriory in the competition that features a special guest from South Carolina.
Organizers announced that part of the excitement of this year's game is the plan for the Gray Collegiate Academy Basketball team to attend and take on the best boys’ teams of the Virgin Islands.
The St. Thomas-St. John district will be represented by Charlotte Amalie, Eudora Kean, V.I. Montessori and Antilles School. While Central High, Educational Complex and St. Joseph’s will represent for St. Croix.
The tournament will also see six of the best girls’ teams in the Virgin Islands competing.
The championship games are scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. for the girls with the boys’ game following.
