The BVI Cycling Federation will be having its first Junior Championship for junior cyclists 18 years and under on Sunday June 12.
The race which will see junior riders coming from St. Croix to compete against local junior riders, will begin at the West End Police Station, travel East on the main road, turn at the Pleasant Valley Junction in Palestina where there will be a cone in the road. Riders will return west to the start finish for one lap or 10.4 miles.
This event will feature juniors in categories, Under 19 three laps or 31.2, Under 15 two laps or 20.8 miles.
Juniors riders from St. Croix include 15-year old Apolinar Luis Acevedo and 18 year old Mark Defour.
The race starts at 7 a.m. sharp and registration at 6:30 a.m.
This event will have trophies and small prize monies and refreshment will be served after the race.
This event is sponsored by RTW and Gatorade, Horizon Yacht Charters and Harneys.
The BVICF is inviting the public and cycling enthusiasts to come out and support this event.
