Minister for Education and Culture, Hon. Myron Walwyn announced that the plans for the two buildings that will be added to the Elmore Stoutt High School campus have been approved and the construction phase can now commence.
During the question and answer segment of the House of Assembly sitting on May 17th Hon. Walwyn in response to a question from the Leader of Opposition, Hon. Andrew Fahie announced that the plans were submitted and passed.
The Minister noted: “Madame Speaker, the drawings for the two buildings located on the Elmore Stoutt High School campus were submitted to Town and Country Planning on 24 March 2016 by the Ministry of Education and Culture.”
Further, Hon. Walwyn disclosed that the approval was granted for Development Application No. GD3/16 by the Planning Authority on 6 June 2016, and approval was granted for Building Permit No. GP17/01 by Building Authority (Public Works Department) on 6 January, 2017.
Now, Hon. Walwyn stated that the construction of the project can commence: “Madame Speaker, the next phase of the master plan for the Elmore Stoutt High School is the construction of the auditorium which includes the cafeteria, administration spaces, recreational facilities and restroom facilities. Plans are currently being finalized for submission to Planning Authority; as of date no plans have been submitted by this Ministry for any other building,” he added.
