Minors Attempt Scooter Heist at Police Station

Scooters were all the rage this weekend as the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) reported two separate incidences of scooter thefts.

The first incident occurred in the Fat Hogs Bay area around 9pm. It is reported that two men dressed in black and hoodies accosted a female and took her scooter as she entered the yard of her residence. It was stated that the female made efforts to defend herself but was struck on her helmet with what appeared to be a handgun.

The police said that the assailants made off with the scooter which was later recovered undamaged. The two men are described to be 5’6 and 6’0.

The second incident is most daring and involves five minors. The RVIPF reported that the minors attempted to steal scooters from the Road Town Police Station around midnight. The minors, who are said to be ages 13 to 16 attempted to take two scooters from the Police Station compound through a small area adjoining the Althea Scatliffe Primary School fence.

While all  five were arrested, only two of the minors were charged with theft.
