The government is planning on spending a maximum of $2M to build a new ferry dock on the sister island of Virgin Gorda.
Hon. Mark H. Vanterpool said that however, no date has been set for the start of the project.
"We have set an estimated budget Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000)," he said in the House of Assembly.
The minister added, "no commencement date has been set, at this time."
He explained that however, in the interim, some temporary reinforcement works on the existing St. Thomas Bay Jetty, which consists of a six (6) inch concrete overlay reinforced with steel and the replacement of the bollards, began on 1st May, 2017.
"These works are expected to be completed by 31st May, 2017, as projected."
