Danny to Fill Cisterns Tonight

Danny which decreased from a category three hurricane to a tropical depression over the last few days is expected to pass over the British Virgin Islands later this evening, bringing with it a healthy amount of rain that will fill cisterns and water farms.

Over the past months the Territory and the other northern Caribbean islands experienced a drought like season which among other things affected agriculture. Due to this fact persons called for rain. Even as Danny was announced persons in the community stated that they would welcome the rain not the storm.

Apparently prayers were answered as the downgraded Danny is expected approach the Virgin Islands with heavy rain falls, and limited fury.

The Accuwaether Center reported on Monday morning that “bands of locally heavy rain and some gusty winds associated with Danny will reach the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Monday night into Tuesday…”
